Taking a sip, she set the glass down on the table, patted Kaia on the shoulder, and whispered, “Don’t try to deceive me. Remember, I’m well aware of your sordid affairs. Any one of them could ruin you.”
Kaia shuddered, yet could only muster a forced smile.

As Stella walked into the room, Miley emerged from the dining area holding a glass of water.

Upon seeing Stella’s ashen face, she became alarmed, quickly setting down the glass to inquire, “Stella, you look sick. Weren’t you at Matthew’s birthday celebration? What happened?”

“Is he all right?”

“He’s fine. His bodyguards were close by and managed to shoot out the car’s tires. Unfortunately, the perpetrators fled.”
